Derek Lippert
Owner/Founder
With an Ecosystem Management Technologist diploma from the Sir Sanford Fleming School of Natural Resources, Derek founded Quiet Nature in 1999 to harness his passion for the great outdoors. His deep love of the natural world manifests itself through his many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing, and tending to his small farm in Ayr.
At the helm of Quiet Nature, Derek works to manage large-scale ecological restoration projects and design practical outdoor living spaces. His dedication to sustainable landscape design, coupled with his desire to protect the environment through innovative design alternatives, makes him a powerful leader for the Quiet Nature team.

Reilly McCleary
Project Management & Design
Reilly began his career in the landscape industry in 2015 during his first year in the Landscape Architecture program at the University of Guelph. Early on, he spent his summers building natural playgrounds across Ontario and several U.S. cities. After graduating, Reilly’s passion for ecological restoration led him to Quiet Nature, where he spent his first few years gaining hands-on experience in the field and contributing to a variety of unique projects.
After a brief break from the industry (and even a stint milking cows), Reilly returned to Quiet Nature, transitioning into a project management role that bridges both commercial construction and residential design. Over the years, he’s found that the more challenging a project is to build, the more he enjoys it. He values the landscape industry for the direct relationship between effort and reward — a feedback loop that drives both client satisfaction and professional growth.
When he’s not managing projects, you’ll find Reilly exploring a wide range of hobbies, from reading Japanese comic books to hunting, fishing, and everything in between.

Nash Harder
Crew Lead
A graduate of Fanshawe College with a diploma in horticulture, Nash forms a pivotal part of our construction team. With 10+ years experience in the industry and several years of flagstone/paver installation experience and over recent years, he has really fallen in love and been involved in drystone walling.
He enjoys the physical aspect of his work and says nothing can beat seeing the satisfaction on the face of a happy customer. During his down time, Nash enjoys snowboarding, camping, trailing running, playing hockey, concerts, barbecuing for friends and family, playing the drums and cheering on his favorite hockey team (he’s a diehard Flyers fan).

Oliver Finucane
Crew Lead
Since the age of 16, Oliver has been involved in the landscaping industry, starting his journey in property maintenance and construction. Over years of experience, his involvement in the construction side of the industry became evident, thus beginning a landscape design course at Mohawk College and others at Landscape Ontario, ranging from construction skills and business.
While working as a Crew Lead with Quiet Nature, Oliver remembers his love for the industry with every start to a new season, when the weather gets warm, and he can be outdoors in the sun again! Besides his love for large-scale excavations, grading and retaining, he also holds an appreciation for smaller projects on his home and enjoying the simple pleasures of discovering new hiking trails and travelling to new places.

Robin Leyde
Softscape Crew Lead
Having grown up in South Africa, Robin’s passion for horticulture stems from being surrounded by incredible nature and landscapes. His path in the industry starts with gardening at home, collecting succulents and orchids, obtaining a diploma in Horticulture, managing greenhouses full of orchids, growing gourmet and medicinal mushrooms and installing/maintaining vertical gardens.
As one of Quiet Nature’s horticulturalists, Robin’s favorite part of the job has been working with natural swim ponds and streams. He enjoys being a part of encouraging clients towards sustainable and beneficial practices and away from the mindset of the garden being separate from nature and the environment.
Away from work, Robin loves exploring his new home, Canada, with his wife and daughter. He also enjoys delving into photography, music, philosophy and politics.

Ryan Kruizenga
Crew Lead
Ryan has always loved landscaping. With experience since being 16, he has expanded his knowledge of the field by attending an Environmental Landscape Management program at Seneca College, doing a co-op program focused on storm pond and street tree planting, and having more than 13 years working for landscaping firms across Ontario. His favorite part of the job is seeing a project from start to finish and being a part of making changes for a client to transform their new space into everything they envisioned: everything from laying flagstone and stonework as well as planting.
In his time off-the-job, Ryan loves spending time with his family and likes to keep himself busy by training for running races and working on his home (both inside and out).

Bob Weber
Lead Hand
Bob Weber’s green fingers started with his love for home gardening and his involvement in the landscaping industry starting in 1987! Although he has attended many off-season training seminars and practical workshops to expand his knowledge, he prefers to learn through hands-on and self-taught experience, especially with swim ponds and water features.
During his downtime, Bob enjoys woodworking, cabinet making and following all sports, especially the Blue Jay games through the summer.

Brett Tohivsky
Crew Member
Prior to working at Quiet Nature, Brett had enrolled in school for Ecosystem Management and continued to co-op in South Africa on an Animal Rehab Reserve. Although he has worked at Toyota, manufacturing vehicles, for multiple summers, Brett has an appreciation for working outside in nice weather and with a good crew. As part of Quiet Nature’s Design Build crew, his favorite moments are working with and building our unique swim ponds.
Evidently, Brett is also a lover of nature and wildlife but also balances his time with playing sports, games and the guitar.

He has worked as a plow operator and labor and lead hand for several years before coming to Quiet Nature as one of our Design-Build lead hands. Since the start of his time here, Nick has come to love building our hardscapes and most specifically, our swim ponds.

Ken Tryon
Yard Coordinator
Ken comes to Quiet Nature with 20+ years of truck driving and logistics experience. As the Yard Coordinator, Ken is responsible for ensuring the crews are provided with all the equipment and materials they need on the job sites as well as maintaining the yard and managing the fleet. Ken has a knack for building things and enjoys taking on any new and interesting projects thrown his way at Quiet Nature.
Outside of work, Ken likes to spend time with family and friends building derby cars, snowmobiling, or just cruising in his restored classic truck.

Kelly Clancy
Softscape Technician
Born and raised on a farm, Kelly developed a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors from an early age. She began her career as an Arborist and has remained passionate about the world of arboriculture ever since. Kelly holds a degree from Western University, a Post-Graduate Certificate from Sheridan College, and a Certificate from the Ground Worker Training Program (GWTP). She is currently working towards her ISA Certification to further deepen her expertise.
At Quiet Nature, Kelly loves creating beautiful, natural landscapes, focusing on incorporating native plant species into every design. She is excited to expand her knowledge into natural pond installations and appreciates the creativity that comes with working on unique spaces each day.
Outside of work, Kelly enjoys climbing trees, creating natural medicines and tinctures, germinating her own annuals, perennials, and vegetables, hunting, photography, practicing yoga and weightlifting, and spending time with her family, friends, and a large assortment of animals.

Nick Roes
Softscape Technician
Before joining Quiet Nature, Nick worked for a tree care company and gained hands-on experience through various farming and garden projects. His education came directly from the land, learning by doing and developing a deep appreciation for growing and nurturing plants.
This is Nick’s first season with Quiet Nature, and he is excited to bring his skills and passion for the outdoors to the team. His favorite part of the industry is being outside and helping to create beautiful, natural spaces.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys gardening, growing his own plants, relaxing and stretching, exercising, and listening to interesting podcasts.

She has worked hand in hand with the City of Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Airport Authority, planting and maintaining garden beds and features in and around the Peel Region and Pearson Airport.
In her time away as our Naturalization Lead Hand, Tonia likes to boost her adrenaline and love for adventure by tree trekking, working through escape rooms and traveling to new places.

Tiffany Reibling

Before discovering her passion in the industry and owning and operating a landscape company for 12 years, Tiffany went to college for Nursing and worked at various restaurants, as a bank teller and an analyst for Rogers. Having joined Quiet Nature as a Hardscape Technician, her work has sparked an obsession in working with ponds and water features.
Away from work, Tiffany enjoys playing with her children doing activities such as soccer, video games, reading, snowboarding and downhill mountain biking.

Robert Andree
Crew Member
Rob has been installing and working around pools for more than 10 years. Rob enjoys being outside and working with his hands and prides himself on his positive attitude and his ability to operate heavy equipment on job sites.
Outside of creating beautiful spaces for Quiet Nature clients, Rob enjoys spending time with his family and working on his family equestrian farm, teaching his son everything there is to know about machine operation.

Eric Whiffen
Crew Member
Eric has spent several years working in the arboriculture industry doing residential work but most recently, prior to joining the Quiet Nature team, Eric was working on a crew that was responsible for trimming trees around power lines. In the time that Eric wasn’t doing tree work, Eric was working at other landscaping companies, gaining skills and experience in the industry.
Eric has a passion for learning to build anything new that he has never built before and is working as a hardscape technician, incorporating stones and rocks into beautiful backyard designs.
After the work day is done, Eric enjoys spending his time playing and listening to music, camping, and reading.

James Levesque
Crew Member
Before joining Quiet Nature, James was a graphic designer for community organizations. James made the switch to landscaping through the Landscape Ontario GROW program because he had a strong desire to work with his hands and remove himself from the digital design world.
James’ favourite projects to work on are residential garden renovations. He finds his passion in the ability to drastically transform these spaces in such a short time. He finds planting work to be peaceful and enjoys spending his days outside along side the crew.
In James’ downtime, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors, specifically camping and canoeing. He also enjoys cooking, music and cars.

Adam White
Crew Leader
Adam holds a diploma in Police Foundations but, due to color blindness, took a different career path. He spent most of his career as a Branch Manager in construction equipment rentals, where he specialized in employee training and applied efficiency concepts like LEAN and Six Sigma to operational processes. He is also trained in the use and operation of hundreds of types of construction tools and equipment.
A few years ago, Adam made a career shift into the hardscape industry. After his first season, he earned his Paver Installer Certification from the CMHA (formerly ICPI). He later started and ran his own home renovation business before deciding that Quiet Nature was the right fit for his skills and passion—and fortunately, the feeling was mutual.
What Adam enjoys most about his work is transforming spaces from something bland into something beautiful and unique, customized to fit each client’s lifestyle.
When he’s not leading a crew, most of Adam’s time is spent with his four children. He also enjoys cooking and baking, playing guitar, and learning new things.

Tyler Stanley
Crew Member
Tyler is a young and ambitious member of the Quiet Nature team, with roots in the landscape industry going back to the age of 13. He got his start running a small mulching business alongside his brother, supported by their parents. Over the years, Tyler explored a few different career paths — working as a gymnastics coach, earning his lifeguard certification, and assisting with swim lessons. He also pursued interests in electrical work, cooking, and photography through dual-credit courses in high school. But no matter what new opportunities he tried, Tyler always found himself drawn back to the landscape world.
Since joining Quiet Nature in October 2024, Tyler has focused on the hardscape side of the industry, where he enjoys building natural stone retaining walls and working with flagstone. To him, it’s like solving a giant, intricate puzzle — fitting oddly shaped stones together to create something beautiful out of what might look chaotic to others. His favourite part of the industry is the endless variety: no two jobs are ever the same, and there’s always something new to learn and ways to improve.
Outside of work, Tyler keeps active with hobbies like snowboarding, wakeboarding, gymnastics, martial arts, and working out at the gym. He also enjoys relaxing with video games and spending time with friends and family.

Tamara DePauw

This is Tamara’s first experience in the landscape industry, and she is excited to be part of the Quiet Nature team, eager to learn and grow her skills in this new field.
Outside of work, Tamara enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and playing sports.
