Derek Lippert

Founder

Derek founded Quiet Nature in 1999, combining his passion for the outdoors with his training as an Ecosystem Management Technologist from Sir Sandford Fleming College. Over the past two decades, he has helped shape Quiet Nature into one of the region’s leading landscape design and ecological restoration companies, known for thoughtful design and a deep respect for the natural environment.

Derek continues to play an active role in guiding the company’s vision and supporting the team on projects, while also sharing the experience he has gained throughout his career by consulting with other organizations in the industry.

When he’s not working on projects or planning the next big idea, Derek enjoys fishing, hunting, canoeing, camping, and spending time tending to his small farm in Ayr.

Ashley Borden

HR & Safety Coordinator

Ashley brings extensive experience in health, safety, and leadership to Quiet Nature. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a Health and Safety Consultant in the KW region and spent more than a decade with Toyota in various leadership and safety roles.

At Quiet Nature, Ashley oversees both human resources and health & safety, helping ensure the team is supported, job sites remain safe, and company policies and procedures run smoothly.

Outside of work, Ashley enjoys reading, going to concerts, and staying active. She also loves spending time outdoors with her family, camping, canoeeing, skating, and playing pond hockey with her two energetic boys.

Clare Higgins

Office Administrator

Clare brings more than 20 years of office administration experience, primarily in finance and billing environments. Since joining Quiet Nature in 2022, she has helped keep the company’s day-to-day operations organized while learning more about the landscaping industry. Clare enjoys being part of a supportive team and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.

Outside of the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering with National Service Dogs, and getting outdoors whenever she can whether hiking, paddleboarding, or tending to her backyard vegetable garden.

Kim Lippert

Kim Lippert

Landscape Sales, Design, Estimator & Project Manager

Kim has been part of Quiet Nature since 2005 and brings a lifelong passion for plants and gardening to her work. Her creative approach was influenced by her Fine Arts studies at Concordia University and further shaped through travel and volunteer experiences across Europe.

An interest in Buddhist philosophy has also helped shape Kim’s appreciation for balance, mindfulness, and working in harmony with the natural world principles that often influence her design approach. She has continued expanding her horticultural knowledge through programs at Humber Polytechnic, Conestoga College, the University of Guelph, and Landscape Ontario.

Kim enjoys collaborating with clients to create outdoor spaces that feel natural, functional, and uniquely personal.

Sean MacDonald

Landscape Sales, Design, Estimator & Project Manager

Sean graduated from Fanshawe College’s Landscape Design program in 2020 and has been working in landscape design and construction ever since. Before focusing on design, he gained hands-on experience helping with carpentry and landscaping projects at his family’s cottage. Sean enjoys seeing how thoughtful design can transform the way people use and experience their outdoor spaces.

He particularly enjoys projects that incorporate structures like fences and pergolas where creativity and craftsmanship come together.

Outside of work, Sean enjoys spending time at the cottage, kayaking, hiking, golfing, and watching Leafs games with friends.

Reilly McCleary

Landscape Sales, Design, Estimator & Project Manager

Reilly began working in the landscape industry while studying Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph. Early in his career, he spent summers helping build natural playgrounds across Ontario and parts of the United States.

After graduating, he joined Quiet Nature and gained hands-on experience across a wide range of projects before transitioning into project management. Reilly enjoys the challenge of complex builds and the satisfaction of seeing a project come together successfully.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, hunting, fishing, and exploring a wide range of hobbies and interests.

Ken Tryon

Yard Coordinator

Ken brings more than 20 years of experience in truck driving and logistics to his role as Quiet Nature’s Yard Coordinator. He keeps the yard organized, ensures crews have the materials and equipment they need, and helps manage the company’s fleet.

Ken enjoys solving logistical challenges and making sure everything is ready for crews heading out to job sites each day.

Outside of work, he enjoys building derby cars, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and friends often cruising in his restored classic truck.

Oliver Finucane

Construction Support Lead

Oliver began working in landscaping at the age of 16 and has steadily built his experience in property maintenance and landscape construction. He expanded his knowledge by studying landscape design at Mohawk College and taking courses through Landscape Ontario.

In his role as Construction Support Lead at Quiet Nature, Oliver works closely with the construction teams to help ensure projects run smoothly by coordinating materials, equipment, and site logistics.

He enjoys being part of the process that brings creative landscape ideas to life. Outside of work, Oliver enjoys hiking new trails, traveling, and working on projects around his home.

Ryan Kruizenga

Hardscape Technician
Crew Lead

Ryan has been involved in landscaping since his teenage years and has built more than a decade of experience in the industry. He studied Environmental Landscape Management at Seneca College and has worked on projects across Ontario including stormwater pond planting and urban tree installation. Ryan enjoys seeing projects through from start to finish and takes pride in transforming outdoor spaces into something clients truly enjoy.

In his free time, Ryan enjoys spending time with family, training for running races, and working on home improvement projects.

Adam White

Adam White

Hardscape Technician
Crew Lead

Adam brings a diverse professional background to Quiet Nature, including years spent as a branch manager in construction equipment rentals where he specialized in operational efficiency and employee training. After transitioning into the hardscape industry, he earned his Paver Installer Certification and eventually launched his own renovation business before joining Quiet Nature. Adam enjoys leading crews and transforming ordinary spaces into unique outdoor environments.

Outside of work, Adam spends much of his time with his four children and enjoys cooking, baking, playing guitar, and learning new skills.

Robin Leyde

Horticultural Technician
Crew Lead

Originally from South Africa, Robin developed his passion for horticulture while growing up surrounded by diverse natural landscapes. His career has included greenhouse management, orchid cultivation, mushroom production, and the installation of vertical gardens.

At Quiet Nature, Robin leads horticulture projects that focus on planting design, garden establishment, and ecological gardening practices. He enjoys helping clients see their gardens as living systems that evolve and grow over time.

Outside of work, Robin enjoys photography, music, philosophy, and exploring Canada with his wife and daughter.

Nash Harder

Hardscape Technician
Lead Hand

Nash is a graduate of Fanshawe College’s horticulture program and brings more than a decade of industry experience to the Quiet Nature construction team. He has developed strong skills in flagstone and paver installation and has recently developed a particular interest in drystone wall construction. Nash enjoys the physical nature of the work and the satisfaction that comes from seeing a project take shape from the ground up.

Outside of work, he enjoys snowboarding, trail running, camping, hockey, concerts, and playing the drums while cheering on his favourite team, the Philadelphia Flyers.

Nick Regnerus

Hardscape Technician
Lead Hand

Nick brings several years of experience in landscaping and snow operations to his role as a Design-Build Lead Hand at Quiet Nature. He also studied Automotive Power Fundamentals at Conestoga College and enjoys working with machines and equipment.

Since joining the team, Nick has developed a passion for building hardscapes, particularly natural swim ponds and stone features. His combination of mechanical knowledge and construction experience helps projects run smoothly in the field.

Bob Weber

Hardscape Technician

Bob’s interest in landscaping began with home gardening and eventually grew into a career spanning more than three decades. Since entering the industry in 1987, he has continued developing his skills through hands-on experience, training seminars, and practical workshops. Bob has developed a strong interest in building swim ponds and water features, where craftsmanship and creativity come together.

When he’s not working, Bob enjoys woodworking, cabinet making, and keeping up with sports especially cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays during baseball season.

Tiffany Reibling

Hardscape Technician

Before entering the landscaping industry, Tiffany explored several different careers including nursing studies, banking, and working as an analyst for Rogers. She later owned and operated her own landscaping company for more than a decade before joining Quiet Nature.

Tiffany enjoys working on hardscape installations, particularly ponds and water features where craftsmanship and creativity come together. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her children playing sports, reading, snowboarding, and mountain biking.

Robert Andree

Hardscape Technician

Rob has more than 10 years of experience working around pool construction and installation. Since joining Quiet Nature in 2024 as a hardscape technician, he has been learning the company’s approach to landscape construction while contributing to a wide range of projects.

Rob enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and helping build beautiful outdoor spaces for clients. When he’s not on the job site, he spends time with his family and helps run his family’s equestrian farm while teaching his son about machinery and equipment.

Eric Whiffen

Hardscape Technician

Eric brings several years of experience from the arboriculture industry, including working on crews responsible for trimming trees around power lines. Alongside his tree work, he also gained experience with landscaping companies, developing skills in construction and outdoor design.

At Quiet Nature, Eric enjoys learning new building techniques and contributing to projects that incorporate natural stone and thoughtful outdoor design. Outside of work, Eric enjoys music, camping, and reading.

Tyler Stanley

Tyler Stanley

Hardscape Technician

Tyler’s experience in landscaping began at age 13 when he and his brother started a small mulching business. Since then, he has explored several interests including gymnastics coaching, lifeguarding, electrical work, cooking, and photography before returning to the landscape industry full time.

At Quiet Nature, Tyler enjoys working on natural stone retaining walls and flagstone installations where precision and creativity come together. He is currently working toward obtaining his Red Seal Certification in Horticulture as he continues to build his career in the industry. Outside of work, Tyler stays active with snowboarding, wakeboarding, martial arts, and spending time with friends and family.

Tonia Coulter

Horticultural Technician
Lead Hand

Tonia brings more than a decade of horticulture and landscaping experience, including time spent supervising crews and managing planting and garden installation projects in the Mississauga area. She has worked closely with the City of Mississauga and the Greater Toronto Airport Authority installing and maintaining landscape plantings across the region.

At Quiet Nature, Tonia focuses on planting installations, garden care, and helping landscapes establish and thrive. She is currently working toward obtaining her Red Seal Certification in Horticulture as she continues to expand her professional skills. Outside of work, she enjoys tree trekking, escape rooms, and exploring new places.

James Levesque

James Levesque

Horticultural Technician

James previously worked as a graphic designer before deciding to pursue a more hands-on career working outdoors. He entered the landscaping field through the Landscape Ontario GROW program and quickly discovered a passion for horticulture and garden installations.

At Quiet Nature, James focuses on planting projects and garden renovations where creativity, plant knowledge, and attention to detail all come together. Outside of work, James enjoys camping, canoeing, cooking, music, and spending time around cars.

Corrina Pollock

Horticultural Technician

Corrina joined Quiet Nature as a first-year Horticulture Apprentice and Horticultural Technician, bringing several years of hands-on experience in the landscaping industry. Before joining the team, she worked in landscaping in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley and spent time with the City of Kitchener in the Turf department.

Corrina has a strong passion for plants—especially roses—and enjoys the creative side of horticulture, where gardens can feel like living works of art through colour, texture, and seasonal change. She appreciates the opportunity to work outdoors and take part in creating meaningful, visible change in the landscape.

Outside of work, Corrina enjoys staying active with yoga and paddleboarding, spending time with friends and family, travelling, and attempting to learn Dutch—something that currently feels more like a challenge than a hobby.
