2010 Award of Excellence

Quiet Nature (formerly Naturally Maintained) is the proud recipient of a 2010 Landscape Ontario Award of Excellence in the category of Residential Construction – $75,000 to $100,000.

Quiet Nature was challenged by a client who had sold their co

ttage the previous year and were hoping to re-create a northern escape in their backyard. They had specific requests like a outdoor kitchen BBQ island, dining area, patio space, water feature and a per

gola for filtered shade.

In addition they needed privacy from the adjoining neighbours.

The Quiet Nature solution was a design that included a three section patio with kitchen, dining, & lounge/fire pit areas.  A new garden wall enclosed the patio and a pergola was built that blended seamlessly into the natural setting.

The “northern escape” was further enhanced with a pond, stream, waterfall and pebble beach.  A pond side patio with perennial and shrub gardens completed the project. The patio patio was set on a permeable base with two underground infiltration pits.

All elements were connected by flagstone pathways.
